The event site is the residences of University College London, in the heart of Bloomsbury.
It's 10-15 minutes walk from the British Library, and not far from the British Museum, Covent Garden, and the Inns at Court.

Notice about UCL residences

The site is not perfectly accessible, by North American standards.

  • Ramsay Hall is over several floors, with the cafeteria in the lowest floor.
  • One elevator in Ramsay Hall serves the caf and the residential floors, but there are still some small sets of stairs throughout the building, even on floors that are 'one' floor.
  • Astor College (residences and classrooms) has a ramp to the entrance, but you have to let them know you need to use it and get a keyholder to open the ramp door.
  • In some bathrooms, there are small ledges to enclose the shower cubicles.
  • The toilets closest the the classrooms are up a short flight of stairs.
  • Hallways are narrower than you'd find in a North American hotel or motel - most English buildings, even new ones, are built on a smaller scale than in North America.

Please be aware of these limitations, be prepared for them. If there's anything we can to to help you manage, we'll do our best.

While the college is reluctant to guarantee accessibility, in practice I've found that the staff will go to great lengths to help guests get around, and are a pleasure to work with in person.
